When I was in second grade my mom bought some sort of infommercial contraption that allowed you to french braid your own hair. Well, like most things ordered off of television, the product ended up being something you couldn't quite figure out. So at the young age of 9 I found myself watching a video on how to french braid a woman's hair. After learning how, I was literally obsessed with how many different ways you could make someone look by just changing his or her hair. That began my journey and passion for what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
One of the things that sets me apart from the other stylists at Fuse is the testosterone I bring to the mix. I graduated from Manteno high school, and have lived in Manteno for the last 13 years. Most of the girls live up north or have moved to the area within the last few years. Let me tell you, Manteno is definitely still considered small town. It has grown a lot since I first moved there but it still doesn't feel anything like the city does. It wasn't until Fuse opened that I didn't care about getting out of the small town and moving to the big city. It was practically like the city was brought to me when I first walked into Fuse. If you don't believe me then come check it out yourself.
Just a few interesting things about me: I love my dog Bob more that anything in this whole world. I'm the middle child with an older and younger brother. And I'm the clumsiest person you'll ever meet. Whether it’s dropping everything the moment I pick it up or knocking over our displays every time I pass them, I tend to embarrass myself every chance I get... For example, my most embarrassing moment took place my junior year of high school. I was in Beecher, Illinois, there to watch the varsity basketball game. It was the fourth quarter, tied up game, and the other team had called a time out. When we were that age my friends and I never wanted to sit by the all the fans and parents, we would always choose the most secluded area, which happen to be all the way ar the top of the bleachers, meanwhile the other teams fans and parents sat on the complete other side of the gym facing our bleachers. So, during the time out the Beecher cheerleaders decided to walk across the court and throw those mini basketballs promoting their squad into our fan's bleachers. At first I thought, "Why would I want one of their teams promotion basketballs?" then, when i saw one bouncing in the very bottom row down below, I thought, "I've got to have that." I stood up and went to step; I slipped on the ledge barrel rolled down the entire set of bleacher. Not only did all of there cheerleaders see me, but it was still a time out so the entire gym caught my roll and bounce down. They couldn't even start the game again until everyone stopped laughing. Yes, I turned out to be that guy for years to come.
